Toridoll Holdings Corporation operates several international chain restaurants—Marugame Udon and Boat Noodle, to name a few. As of 2020, there are 1,142 restaurants in Japan and 634 in overseas locations. At this size, the corporate level of Toridoll has difficulty accurately gauging each restaurant chain's performance because restaurants are being managed differently and do not share similar practices and processes. Toridoll approached us seeking a solution that would allow them to achieve two main objectives—reduce mismanagement and increase profitability. I designed an all-in-one, cloud-based restaurant management platform that streamlines daily operations for restaurant staff and also gives restaurant owners like Toridoll full visibility of restaurant performance. Designing a cross-device system involved research and thoughtful planning into the user experience of interconnected devices and the cross-platform interactions. With feedback from the client over two years, I was able to iterate and improve upon my designs to deliver a seamless omnichannel experience that worked for them.
